Scope and limitations
Ontario 2022-2026 municipal council current-term baseline: elected or acclaimed mayors, reeves, deputy heads and councillors; excludes trustees, staff, vacancy placeholders and personal contact details.
Current-term baseline, not a live incumbency certification. The official provincial file identifies the 2,796 people elected or acclaimed at the October 24, 2022 general election and was last marked updated 2024-02-22; it does not incorporate later resignations, deaths, removals, appointments, vacancies or by-elections, so municipal council pages remain authoritative for today's roster. It supplies records for 414 local/single-tier municipalities. The 30 tracker municipalities without a direct 2022 winner row are upper-tier governments: bruce, dufferin, durham, elgin, essex-county, frontenac, grey, haliburton, halton, hastings, huron, lambton, lanark, leeds-and-grenville, lennox-and-addington, middlesex, muskoka, niagara, northumberland, oxford, peel, perth-county, peterborough-county, prescott-and-russell, renfrew-county, simcoe, stormont-dundas-and-glengarry, waterloo-region, wellington, york. The provincial winner rows expose no reliable ward field, so ward is null. Open North Represent (https://represent.opennorth.ca/api/) was checked 2026-08-01 and supplied supplementary links and attributed source URLs only after exact normalized-name and municipality matching. Exactly 412 matched rows retain the Open North record's source_url in sourceUrl, including matches without a profile link; the other 2,384 rows retain the official provincial winner CSV in sourceUrl. The 412 winners matched across 48 municipalities; 2,384 winners had no match (2,296 outside Open North's direct-municipality coverage and 88 within it). The Ontario Open North subset contained 620 raw rows / 595 unique municipality-name keys across 53 council sets; 183 unique feed names did not match the official general-election baseline and were not added. Open North publishes no per-record freshness timestamp and some feeds are incomplete or stale. No source council set or official winner municipality slug failed mapping. School-board trustees, staff, vacancy placeholders and personal contact details are excluded. For HTTPS-only output, 57 Open North URL placements were scheme-normalized from http:// to https:// (27 attributed source URLs, 24 official-profile URLs and 6 website URLs); no link targets were otherwise inferred.
